Beaumont is a city situated in Southeast Texas on the Neches River. The city saw a vibrant change in 1901 after a Spindletop gusher was found that hinted at the presence of a huge oil field. With the discovery of Spindletop, many companies sprouted within the city’s vicinity and the area rapidly became one of the major oil refining areas in the country. Along with two nearby cities — Orange and Port Arthur— Beaumont forms the “Golden Triangle,” a major industrial zone in Texas.

Beaumont Art League – It is a famous art place known for cultivating the art scene in the city. It hosts monthly group and solo art exhibitions that showcase the work of local artists from all over the United States. It also features annual membership workshops, lectures, traveling exhibitions, juried shows and educational activities.
Rogers Park – A recreational place for families, Rogers Park features a water playground and a regular playground. Other attractions include a softball field, community center, basketball courts, tennis courts and various picnic areas.
Tyrrell Park – A beautiful lush green space embellished with trees and a natural habitat for animals, birds, and fish, Tyrrell Park is a must-see spot for travelers. Big Beau – The “larger than life” mantra of Texas reflects in its giant structures that adorn the city. Big Beau, a 135-foot long alligator towering approximately 30 feet is the newest roadside attraction as you make your way to the Gator Country.
Fire Museum of Texas – With an extensive collection of antique engines and firefighting equipment, this museum is one of its kind in the state of Texas. Opened in the year 1984, the museum features one of the world’s largest working fire hydrant and a gift shop to buy souvenirs from.
Texas Energy Museum – Formed in 1987, the exhibits in the museum depicts history, geology and the technology of oil production. It has two floors of displays mainly focusing on formation, exploration, drilling, refining of oil and a spindle top. The museum also highlights the flourishing history of Texas oil through interesting art exhibits and talking robotic characters.
Edison Museum – The museum is dedicated to the life and inventions of Thomas Alva Edison. Various inventions and innovations of the maestro can be seen displayed all over the museum. These include Edison’s early motion pictures, incandescent light bulb and phonograph. Interactive exhibits make it a fun place to explore.
St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica – This sacred place is one of the most magnificent house of worship in southeast Texas. During the mid-year of 2006, Pope Benedict XVI praised the historical, religious, and artistic significance of Saint Anthony Cathedral and conferred upon it the title of “Minor Basilica.”
Movie Theaters – If you want to catch the latest releases, Beaumont caters to the delights of movie buffs with an assortment of movie theaters. Some of the well-known cinemas include Cinemark Tinseltown 15, B&B Theaters Central Mall 10, Regal Cinemas Star 12, and Showbiz Cinemas that shelters multiple screens, 3D films, digital and modern technology, plush seating and a space for shopping.
