Beaumont is a city situated in Southeast Texas on the Neches River. The city saw a vibrant change in 1901 after a Spindletop gusher was found that hinted at the presence of a huge oil field. With the discovery of Spindletop, many companies sprouted within the city’s vicinity and the area rapidly became one of the major oil refining areas in the country. Along with two nearby cities — Orange and Port Arthur— Beaumont forms the “Golden Triangle,” a major industrial zone in Texas.

Beaumont Art League – It is a famous art place known for cultivating the art scene in the city. It hosts monthly group and solo art exhibitions that showcase the work of local artists from all over the United States. Texas Energy Museum – Formed in 1987, the exhibits in the museum depicts history, geology and the technology of oil production. It has two floors of displays mainly focusing on formation, exploration, drilling, refining of oil and a spindle top. The museum also highlights the flourishing history of Texas oil through interesting art exhibits and talking robotic characters.
Edison Museum – The museum is dedicated to the life and inventions of Thomas Alva Edison. Various inventions and innovations of the maestro can be seen displayed all over the museum. These include Edison’s early motion pictures, incandescent light bulb and phonograph. Interactive exhibits make it a fun place to explore.
St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica – This sacred place is one of the most magnificent house of worship in southeast Texas. During the mid-year of 2006, Pope Benedict XVI praised the historical, religious, and artistic significance of Saint Anthony Cathedral and conferred upon it the title of “Minor Basilica.”
